Cruising is a social experience as you chat with fellow passengers on excursions, at the social hour before dinner in the Lounge, and at meals. We have done four river cruises since 2011.We always buy the cheapest cabin available. The cabins are relatively small and may not have the best furniture to view the river scenery. Assuming you are not reclusive, you will spend most of your waking hours off the ship on excursions, or watching the view in the main lounge or sun deck. Generally, most river cruise cabins are shower only, unless you book a suite. Lines that offer tubs inclide AmaWaterways, Tauck, Viking and Uniworld. There was a large picture window but were rarely in our cabins during the daytime to look out of it. But even if you can find a cabin that works, keep in mind that river cruise excursions often require a lot of walking over cobblestoned streets.
